1. Frame the Lesson: Post and introduce learning objective before the lesson and ensure objective was met by the end of the lesson.
2. Work in the Power Zone: Stay in close proximity of students to identify and address students academic and/or behavioral needs.
3. Frequent Small Group Purposeful Talk about the learning: After every 10-15 minutes of teaching, allow students to discuss with smaller groups using pre designed questions or sentence stems.
4. Recognize and Reinforce: Praise students on their effort and be personalize recognition. 5. Write Critically: Provide time during the lesson for students to write for the purpose of organizing, clarifying, defending, refuting, analyzing, dissecting, connecting, and/ expanding on ideas or concepts.
